About Me
About Us
Allin Hampy is an independent project rooted in Central Peru, where the Andes meet the Amazon. It brings together anthropology, traditional knowledge, ethnobotany, cultural immersion and approaches to wellbeing through experiences grounded in place and human relationships.
THE PERSON BEHIND THE PROJECT
Francisco
Grounded in anthropology. Shaped by experience.
My name is Francisco. I am a sociologist specialised in social anthropology, with more than 15 years of practical field experience exploring traditional knowledge, ethnobotany, ritual practices and ways of understanding human wellbeing in the Andean-Amazonian world.
Over the years, my work has developed through encounters with people, local knowledge holders, traditional practitioners and the places where knowledge remains part of everyday life.
BEYOND THE EXPERIENCE
A commitment that goes beyond tourism.
Since 2012, my work has also included independent social engagement with rural and Indigenous communities, Andean migrant families, children and women.
This work is distinct from the commercial activities of Allin Hampy. It reflects a longer commitment to social realities, relationships and forms of participation that cannot be reduced to a short visit or a single experience.
For me, this distinction matters. People and communities are not simply the setting for an experience. They are part of the living context from which knowledge, relationships and understanding emerge.
Knowledge is living
Traditional knowledge belongs to people, practices, plants, stories and places. We seek to understand it within the contexts that give it meaning.
Relationship before extraction
We value listening, respect, reciprocity and the relationships that make meaningful cultural exchange possible.
Learning through experience
Understanding grows through participation, observation, conversation and reflection—not simply by receiving information.
Respect for context
We approach traditions within their cultural, social and territorial settings, recognising that not everything can or should be separated from its context.
